Unprecedented volatility in crop prices and input costs are encouraging many farmers to find new ways of managing risk. For many years, Midwestern tenant farmers have used crop share and cash rental agreements to secure land for raising crops. Today, more farmers are looking at flexible cash rental agreements, which are a sort of hybrid of the two.
