    Summary

    An important aspect of lifetime transitions and estate planning is consideration of the times in life where it is necessary for someone to step into the shoes of another and make decisions on that individual’s behalf. We never know – at any age – when we may be unable to speak and act for ourselves. With proper planning, an assortment of tools can be used for what is sometimes referred to as substitute decision-making.
