Oklahoma Beef Calf Retention Decision Aid

Eric DeVuyst, Kellie Curry Raper, Damona Doye and, David Lalman (August, 2010)
    Summary

The Oklahoma Beef Calf Retention Decision Aid was developed to assist cow-calf producers in deciding whether to retain calves past weaning. Retained ownership means that the owner chooses to market calves at some point beyond weaning rather than selling them at weaning time. This program is designed to assist producers in evaluating numerous common retained ownership scenarios, including retained ownership through preconditioning, one or more grazing periods and (or) the finishing phase.
