Summary

Molting is a normal part of the life of the laying hens where they shed the old feathers and grow new ones. However this process will interfere with egg production and can lead to health problems in the animals. This presentation discusses the molting process, some of the health and behavior problems that can develop and some husbandry recommendations to implement during the molting season.
