Grain balance sheets are estimates of supply and demand or stocks to use. They are the key to understanding the grain markets. A grain farmer who understands how to interpret balance sheets is able to incorporate new market information as it develops and to adjust his or her price forecasts accordingly. This fact sheet, although older, describes relevant information on the use of domestic and world balance sheets for corn, soybeans and wheat .
