    Summary

    Best management practices describes a wide array of strategies to improve herd performance and ranching profitability. These may include changes to stocking rate, culling, pregnancy testing, BSE testing, supplemental feeding, breeds, herd mix, type of livestock enterprises, hay testing, and artificial insemination. This study illustrates the financial implications of the use of AI on a typical South Texas ranching operation.
