Cornell Cooperative Extension of Chenango County New York has developed this video showing different items to consider in managing the comfort of dairy cows in free stall barns. Cow comfort has been determined to be one of the most important management aspects a dairyperson can do to ensure profitability. We look at bedding, stall size, and the placement of neck rails, all of which contribute measurably to cow comfort and profits.
