    Contract Hog Production

    Michael Langemeier (July, 1993)
    Summary

Contract hog production involves an agreement between a contractor and a grower. The contractor owns and provides feeder pig finishing contracts and breeding stock for feeder pig production contracts, and typically bears the costs associated with feed, medication, and transportation. Growers raise the pigs in their own facilities, and are compensated on a fee basis.
