The Grazing Broker aims to keep grasslands intact for grassland bird conservation by facilitating rental relationships between livestock producers and landowners. Good relationships work because of common interests; where differences exist both parties must work to understand the others' interests. A technique for principled negotiation, borrowing from "Getting to Yes: Negotiating Agreement Without Giving In" (Fischer et al, 2011), is presented to help rental partners avoid making agreements they should reject, leaving money on the table, or damaging good working relationships.
