    Summary

    The purpose of this overview is to help producers, Extension county faculty, and other agricultural professionals understand current federal crop insurance policies available in Wisconsin for major crops. In addition, late and prevented plant coverage and replant provisions are explained. An insured farmer’s responsibilities are overviewed, including acreage reporting requirements, use of good farming practices, potential for alternative crop uses, and actions when a loss occurs.
