    Summary

    Armyworms are the larvae (caterpillars) of the moth Pseudaletia unipuncta Haworth. This insect is a serious pest of turf, forage, and seed grasses; small grains; and corn throughout North America. Armyworms can cause sudden, extensive damage to these grasses and grasslike plants.
